Our activities Our activities

The LGAQ seeks to advance local government's knowledge and access to resources in a number of areas through dedicated projects.

Projects may be co-funded by state or federal governments but the areas covered are determined largely by our members at the annual general meeting each year, and through direct consultation.

Advisory Groups

Advisory groups are a key part of the LGAQ’s Policy, Representation and Engagement Process. The Groups provide a forum to discuss issues and inform policy options for consideration by the Policy Executive.

Matters and options from Advisory Group discussions are presented to the LGAQ Policy Executive for further consideration and development, and can become part of the LGAQ’s Advocacy Action Plan and Policy Statement.

Each of the sector-specific Advisory Groups meet approximately three times each year and will be chaired by a person selected from the membership.
