Statement by LGAQ chief executive Greg Hallam

Published: 2nd May 2019

The Queensland Government’s decision to dismiss Logan City Council is deeply regrettable.

None of the seven councillors accused of wrongdoing have been given natural justice.

The actions of the Government and the Crime and Corruption Commission in this matter are unprecedented.

The residents of Logan City now have no local political representation.

It would appear the move against the Council at this time was driven by political expediency rather than good governance.
