16 projects approved for coastal adaptation funding

Published: 27th April 2017

Another five local governments have been approved for coastal adaptation projects funding as part of the $12 million QCoast2100 fund.

Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Bundaberg, Isaac and Cook Shire councils have all been successful in their applications for funding, designated to prepare coastal communities for the impacts of coastal hazards.

The LGAQ will host another Knowledge and Information Sharing Forum on 18 May 2017 in Cairns, giving eligible councils an opportunity to learn from those who have been successful in their bids.

The forum will also feature a half-day stakeholder communications and engagement workshop.

The grant funding process is on-going and the LGAQ continues to engage with all eligible councils to encourage and assist with the submission of funding applications.
