The LGAQ and Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) are a step closer towards the finalisation of a new cost sharing arrangement for works in state controlled road corridors.
At its recent meeting, the LGAQ Policy Executive gave its approval for the new Cost Sharing Arrangement (CSA) to be signed at the LGAQ annual conference in October.
LGAQ Principal Advisor for roads, transport and infrastructure Scott Britton said the new CSA places greater emphasis on developing agreements at the local level.
“The new CSA will focus on outcomes and encourages negotiation at the local level.” Mr Britton said.
The new CSA will include a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for the negotiation of agreements and a set of modules that will outline policy positions on common activities where cost sharing is required.
