Trading on a first

The LGAQ has appointed Paul Cranch as a Senior Trade and Investment Advisor.

In a first for the LGAQ, Paul will work to improve trade and investment attraction strategies for councils and their regions.

The appointment follows the signing of a Statement of Intent between LGAQ President Mayor Mark Jamieson and Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment Curtis Pitt to develop a partnership to promote and coordinate trade and investment opportunities in Queensland.

The role is part of a wider initiative following LGAQ’s State Budget bid for $200,000 in funding over two years to be connected to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Trade and Investment Queensland and the LGAQ.

Paul, who comes to the LGAQ from Lockyer Valley Regional Council, has extensive international experience working in the private sector in Japan for 15 years.

You can contact Paul regarding trade and investment opportunities at Paul_cranch@lgaq.asn.au or by calling the member services hotline on 1300 542 700.
