The LGAQ this week farewelled one of our most stalwart allies, legendary PR man Peter Cole, who died earlier this month, aged 77.
A big crowd paid tribute to the “old dragonfly” at St Finbarr’s church at Ashgrove on Monday, many recalling how Peter built one of the best PR and publicity companies that Brisbane had ever seen.
LGAQ chief executive Greg Hallam said Peter consulted to the Association in various capacities for a total of 33 years.
“He spoke at a number of LGAQ conferences and many mayors and local government figures benefitted from his first-class media and publicity advice over the years,’’ he said.
“Above all else he was highly committed to his craft.”
