LGAQ mourns loss of LG Sherlock manager Ryan Goff

Published: 21st August 2018

The LGAQ is mourning the tragic loss of our colleague and friend, Ryan Goff, who lost his life in a traffic accident on 10 August.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to Ryan’s family at this very difficult time, especially his wife and two young children.

Ryan led one of the LGAQ’s flagship projects - LG Sherlock - a global first, sector-wide capability in data analytics.

As LG Sherlock’s Project Manager and working at the cutting edge of big data technology for local governments across Queensland, he was a true leader and trailblazer whose work will pay dividends for years to come.

Ryan was an incredibly valued and well-respected member of the LGAQ family.

His profound intellect and work ethic aside – it was his unique combination of kind-heartedness, dry humour and charm which endeared him to all those who crossed his path.

He inspired many during his time at the LGAQ and working with councils, and leaves behind a treasured and powerful legacy in local government.

That legacy includes a strengthened determination by the organisation to continue to deliver on the transformational potential of his work.

The entire LGAQ family extends our sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved Ryan.

He will be deeply missed but will forever remains in our hearts and our work.
