LGAQ is by far the best company/organisation I have worked for! Tristan Douran, Member Services Officer
And that's a powerful benefit when it comes to building effective relationships with the communities where we operate, the organisations we partner with and of course, our members.
Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and a positive balance between work and home life is important to us. Our award winning and nationally recognised wellness program provides many opportunities that motivate our people to be healthier individuals. The LGAQ holds a Happier Healthier Workplace Gold Recognition.
Wellness Expo was a fantastic effort by all involved. I couldn't participate in most things due to other commitments but what I did manage to see, do and benefit from, was excellent and explains a lot as to why LGAQ is far more than a place to work. Great Stuff! Sarah Buckler, General Manager - Advocate

Our LGAQ Values guide our everyday behaviour and help us to make the Association a great place to work. Joining the LGAQ team will provide you with the opportunity to work with, learn from, and be inspired by some of local government's best professionals. LGAQ Organisational Structure
I loved my time working at the Association and immersing myself in the vibrant, interesting and colourful world of local government. During my first two year stint at the LGAQ I certainly had some amazing adventures, from flying over the Torres Strait to driving through the outback in 42 degree heat dodging emus!
A big highlight for me was the opportunity to visit and meet mayors and councillors, as well as being treated to such generous local tours by councils, which I feel very privileged to have experienced all over the state.
The Association looks after its employees, from hot yoga membership discounts to family friendly policies. It’s a supportive and flexible working environment, with a positive work culture. A great place to work - that's why I am back! Samantha Dean, (currently) Communications Manager.
