Councils deliver an extensive range of frontline services that play an important role in improving the livability of our communities. By providing, managing and maintaining many of the services and facilities used in the every day life of community members, visitors and tourists, councils positively and proactively encourage community wellbeing, sustainability and prosperity.

Community governance, as the overarching instrument used to enable these activities, serves a primary purpose – the creation, implementation and monitoring of local laws to assist in the provision of safe communities for everyone to enjoy.
