National electronic Development Assessment (NeDA) Project

The NeDA Project – led by the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) and Cairns City Council – has been initiated and funded by the Commonwealth Government through its Regulation Reduction Incentive Fund (RRIF) program to facilitate the upgrading of Council DA software systems to meet National eDA schema and be web enabled.  These are the foundations to enabling online DA.

As Councils were required to ‘sign-up’ there are only 26 Queensland Councils involved although all suppliers of DA software systems are a part of the process meaning that all Councils with these systems are likely to benefit at some stage.

The NeDA Project completed on 31 December 2007.  This timeframe fits in with the Smart eDA Program which provided the lodgement and other functionality by mid-2007.
