Local Government Arts and Culture Reference Group
The Local Government Arts and Culture Reference Group aims to strengthen the relationship between state and local government for the purpose of effectively positioning arts and culture.
The group provides a forum to discuss emerging trends and issues in arts and cultural development and identify strategies and partnership opportunities.

South East QLD Local Government Cultural Workers Network
The Local Government Cultural Workers Network is a network of Local Government cultural workers in South East Queensland, who come together to:-
- Share information and ideas;
- Enrich and develop professional practice;
- Enhance best practice in cultural engagement in local government;
- Collaborate and explore partnerships and opportunity;
- Enhance the role of culture in local governments and their communities;
- Maximise opportunities to strategically position arts and cultural development and visioning as a major driver of planning.
Workers of this network come together for collegial sharing within an environment of respect and confidentiality.
The Creative Generator’s Network
The Creative Generators is a network of service providers, funded by Arts Queensland, who assist councils and communities to undertake projects and programs within the arts and cultural sector. There are currently three providers in place with a further two under selection (south east region and northern region).
Current service providers are:
Arts Nexus – Far North Queensland
Regional Social Development Centre – Northern Queensland
Creative Regions – South and Central West Queenslan
CICADAS@RAPAD – Central East Queensland
Queensland Arts Council – South East Queensland
Museum Resource Centre Network
The Museum Resource Centre Network is a partnership between the Queensland Museum, Queensland Government, Local Councils and community museums and Indigenous Keeping Places.
The network, which consists of six museum development officers, is there to assist councils with cultural heritage collections. Find out more about this professional resource network.
Queensland Music Festival – reaching out to remote and regional Queensland
A biennial state-wide 17 day celebration of music featuring the best of local, national and international talent. QMF provides full artistic, technical and production support for each project, bringing professional artists and crew to work with the community. Council partners and communities support each project through cash and in-kind support from council and local business, and participation and volunteer support from community members. Many of the events are free for the community.

Museum and Gallery Services Queensland (MGSA)
The MGSA promotes, supports and provides services to foster excellence in museums, galleries and keeping places. Their charter is to ensure a future where museums, galleries and keeping places are relevant, accessible and valued by their communities.They offer a range of programs and services in: information and advice; training and professional development; exhibition development and touring, and promotion. Museum and Gallery Services Queensland is a non-profit company, limited by guarantee, and jointly owned by the Regional Galleries Association of Queensland Inc and Museums Australia Inc (Qld Branch)
Youth Arts Queensland (YAQ)
YAQ is Queensland’s peak body for children and young people in the arts. Established in 1989, YAQ ise a not-for-profit, membership based organisation that leads, celebrates, strengthens and responds to youth arts and cultural development in Queensland and beyond. Find out more about YAQ.
Queensland Theatre Company (QTC)
QTC regularly presents mainstage and education productions throughout regional Queensland. They offer not only threatre but also emerging artist program, writing programs, work experience, secondments and trainee positions and employment opportunities for artists and creative personnel.
