Welcome to Arts and Culture
Arts and culture heritage are intrinsic to who we are as Queenslanders. In metropolitan and regional areas, arts and culture bring richness and meaning to individuals lives and strengthen communities by:
- building community cohesion, wellbeing and resilience
- creating attractive places to live, work and visit
- highlighting creative talent, natural assets and unique cultures
- strengthening economic direction.
With primary responsibility for the development and delivery of planning and policy frameworks which respond to local needs in the area of arts and culture, councils have a lead role to play in building a strong arts and cultural sector and achieving positive outcomes for their communities.
These resources have been developed to support councils across the state to build arts and cultural expertise, skills and networks, and advocate for the role of arts and culture in communities.
