Now open: Advancing QLD age-friendly community grants
The Advancing Queensland: an age-friendly community grants program that provides funding for local projects and initiatives to enhance the age-friendliness of communities across Queensland is now open.
The program provides $1 million per annum over three years from 2017-18 to seed fund community projects that involve partnerships between local government, community and not-for-profit organisations, research organisations and the private sector to co-develop, implement and promote innovate age-friendly projects.
Each year the grants program focuses on new age-friendly domains. Housing, transport and outdoor spaces and buildings were the focus of the 2017-18 grants program.
In 2018-19 applications are invited from organisations who can provide innovative, age-friendly solutions that focus on overcoming barriers older Queenslanders face in relation to: civic participation and employment, community support and health services, and respect and social inclusion.
Applications close 5pm Monday 25 June 2018.
More information and resources to assist with the development of applications can be found at www.qld.gov.au/agefriendlygrants.
