Have your say on stream-bank, in-channel and riparian rehabilitation guidelines
The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy are producing guidelines for streambank, in-channel and riparian rehabilitation.
The focus of the Guidelines will be on the riverine and climatic conditions experienced in Queensland’s watercourses, wetlands and riparian zones.
The guideline will include the development of a framework and classification system that can be applied to identify the most appropriate rehabilitation techniques to use in common situations including landscape rehabilitation and recovery from flood or tropical cyclone events.
It is important that there is local government input to ensure the guidelines meet the needs of the sector. Following this initial survey there will be further consultation and engagement activities over coming months.
