Biosecurity alerts: Be informed first to help your community
Biosecurity Queensland is encouraging anyone with an interest in outbreaks of plant or animal pests and diseases to sign up to be part of its alert system.
The alert system allows Biosecurity Queensland to push out messages via email or text message to anyone registered to notify when there is a significant biosecurity incident or change affecting your area of interest.
Councils are a key stakeholder in a biosecurity incident, providing support and updates to communities during and following emergency responses. By subscribing to the biosecurity alerts you can provide the latest news as it happens.
Alerts are not a newsletter, as they are designed to provide information quickly and directly to industry and the community on significant biosecurity events when they occur.
The alert system allows you to sign up to a particular area of interest such as specific animals and plants, pests and diseases so the information you receive is relevant to you.
Being part of this alert system and keeping yourself up-to-date with biosecurity events means you are playing an important role in helping to protect Queensland’s industries, environment and lifestyle.
