Inspector General Emergency Management News
Anyone who missed it – the “IGEM 2015 Year in Review” is must reading over the Summer break! Whilst there have been some media reports that the IGEM Review have been critical of councils –many of the recommendations have been about how state agencies need to better support councils and the LDMG.
The Inspector General Emergency Management recently launched the “Disaster Management Officer Collective” - a new way of engaging with and supporting the engagement between council officers who are doing the ground work in the DM field.
LGAQ and almost half of the councils have already engaged nominated for the Collective – so far, current membership has more than 531 combined years of disaster management experience available to members to access to help you solve your local day-to-day operational activities.
