Cyclone Names May Kill People?
A friend of mine recently reported that:
“It seems that the weather bureau is intrigued by US research that shows that more than twice the number of people killed by hurricanes with a more feminine sounding name than of a masculine one. This apparently may be that people take the masculine name much more seriously - despite the evidence of Cyclones Tracy and Ingrid, and Hurricane Katrina.” Susan Henry, Third Element Consulting
If you find this as strange as I did – have a look at this piece - Female hurricanes are deadlier than male hurricanes.
